Extended causal theories

Taking as our yardstick the operators used in planning we argue that Shoham's (propositional) causal theories [8] are too limited. Consequently we extend these to the first-order case and define interval theories and extended causal theories. We show that extended causal theories satisfy the appropriate version of Shoham's “unique c.m.i. model” theorem and give an example of their application by specifying a simple hierarchical plan.
