Automatic generation of test data for relational queries

摘要

Automatic techniques for generating a test fatabase for a given query are studied. The methods can be applied in the testing of queries. We define the concept of a complete test database, characterize the notion using Armstrong databases, and give two constructions for producing complete test databases. We also give a method for generating databases that illustrate the effect of each operation appearing in the query.
