Shape from a single view using matching method

摘要

A proposed method for estimating shape of an object using only one image of it is introduced. This method depends on matching each point in object image with another point in a standard object image. The image formation system should be the same for both the standard object and the unknown object. Also, the surface reflectance properties should be the same for the two objects. The surface of the standard object should have all types of surface orientations. The validity of the method is tested using synthetic images; the experimental results are also discussed.
