A method of comparing two patterns independent of possible transformations and small distortions

This paper discusses a recognition processing between patterns represented by N points in R2. As the processing is founded on the comparison of “ordonnances” obtained by ordering the Euclidian distances between the N points, it does not depend on either translation, rotation or homothety and also allows up to 10 per cent distortion.Experimental results are presented.
