Artificial intelligence structural imaging techniques in visual pattern analysis and medical data understanding

摘要

This paper will present application of syntactic pattern recognition methods for analysis of morphology of selected organs visualised on medical images. It will discuss ways of discovering pathological symptoms of chronic diseases such as ischaemic heart disease, upper urinary tract disorders as well as pancreas neoplasm. An analysis of the morphology of these structures is possible with the application of the syntactic analysis and pattern recognition methods, in particular with the attributed grammar of LALR type and application of languages of description of shape features and tree grammars. In the paper, all stages of analysis and understanding of images in the context of obtained features will be described, and also will be presented the proper algorithm of syntactic reasoning basing on the acquired knowledge.
