Automatic inspection of x-ray photograph of welding

摘要

This paper introduces an algorithm for the automatic inspection of X-ray photographs. This algorithm is applicable to nonautomatic welding, and it does not require any treatment for taking X-ray photographs.The algorithm consists of two steps. Step A extracts parameters of welding and is required only once for each kind of welding. In step B, the boundaries of the welding part are at first determined, then each raster point is classified into a normal or an abnormal point, using the Q value of the point. The results of experiments with an X-ray photograph of the butt weld of a boiler on the HITAC 5020E is satisfactory.
