On the classification of congenital abnormalities from hand radiographs

Mathematical techniques for the computer classification of congenital abnormalities using metacarpophalageal lengths obtained from hand radiographs have been investigated. Discriminant analysis has been shown to be significantly better than similarity measures in distinguishing the normal condition, Down's syndrome, Turner's syndrome and achondroplasia from one another.
