Edge segment linking based on gray level and geometrical compatibilities

摘要

Figures of merit are defined for possible linking of pairs of edge segments that continue one another or are anti-parallel to each other. These figures depend on both the geometrical configuration of the segments and the gray levels associated with them. Examples are given involving edge segments of buildings and roads on high resolution aerial photographs.
