A method of synthesis of linear discriminant function in the case of nonseparability

The perceptron criterion function is used as a quality measure of linear discriminant function. A detailed description of an efficient algorithm of minimization of this criterion function is given. The minimum of the function is reached after a finite number of iterations, both in the case of linear separability and nonseparability of sets. The computer implementation of the algorithm based on the basis-exchange technique is also described.
