摘要

Distributed - multirate methods combine the advantages of multirate methods with those of distributed computer systems to provide effective methods for solving very large modular weakly-coupled differential systems. The methods are based on linear multistep methods for ordinary differential equations, but different subsystems are integrated by different autonomous quasi-synchronous processors using possibly different step- lengths, stiffness options and error tolerances. We introduce the methods, provide convergence and stability analyses, and relate some of our practical experience with these methods.
