Special methods for problems whose oscillatory solution is damped

摘要

This paper introduces methods tailored especially for problems whose solution behaves like eλx, where λ is complex. The shallow water equations with topography admit such solution.This paper complements the results of Pratt and others on exponential- fitted methods and those of Gautschi, Neta, van der Houwen and others on trigonometrically-fitted methods.
