On approximate solution of linear singular integral equations

We investigate some properties of solutions of a class of linear singular integral equations. The basic approach consists in replacing the singular kernel by a family of regular Fredholm kernels. Projection techniques are used to discuss the convergence properties of solutions of these Fredholm equations.
