Applications of complex variable residue theory to the evaluation of irrational definite integrals. I

In this paper four irrational definite integrals were evaluated using complex variable residue theory. Two of these integrals were proven to be zero. The approach to evaluating these integrals is nonconventional but is very useful. In spite of this, however, the method continues to produce correct and valid results. All cases were verified using numerical integration techniques.
