Optimal tactics for close support operations. II. Degraded communications with linear time-varying dynamics

The optimal decision rules for force commitments are obtained in mathematical studies of C3 (command, control, and communication). Recursive equations for the solution of the C3 problem are derived for a perturbation model with linear time-varying dynamics. Air and ground commanders are assumed to have perfect intelligence with degraded communication between them. Numerical results are given for several amphibious assaults.
