Numerical solution of the 3-D buoyancy driven cavity problem by a pseudospectral method

摘要

The pseudospectral continuation technique introduced in Karageorghis and Sivaloganathan for 2-D recirculating flows is extended to three dimensions. The pseudospectral/continuation strategy is applied to the vorticity/vector potential formulation of the Boussinesq equations and used to successfully solve the three-dimensional air-filled buoyancy driven cavity problem at various Rayleigh numbers.
