Analysis of linear distributed parameter systems via double Fourier series

Double Fourier series is used to approximate functions of two independent variables and then applied for the analysis of linear distributed parameter systems. Properties of Fourier series are first briefly discussed, and the operational matrix of integration and product are used to reduce the dynamical equation of a linear distributed system to a set of simultaneous linear algebraic equations. The method is computationally very attractive, and applications are demonstrated through illustrative examples.
