摘要

The influence of an inserted endoscope and a Carreau fluid on the peristaltic pumping is investigated under zero Reynolds number and infinitely long wavelength assumptions. The problem is formulated using a perturbation expansion in terms of a variant of the Weissenberg number to obtain explicit forms for the velocity field, a relation between the pressure gradient and flow rate and a relation between the friction force on the inner and outer tubes and flow rate, in terms of the dimensionless non-Newtonian parameters, the radius ratio, and the occlusion. The peristaltic pumping and augmented pumping are discussed for various values of the physical parameters of interest.
