Effect of nonlinearity of the middle term of nonlinear dispersive equations on physical structures

In this work we study the effect of nonlinearity of the middle term of a class of nonlinear dispersive equations on the physical solutions. We show that the change of the exponent of the middle term plays a major role in exhibiting compactons, solitons and periodic solutions. Three model equations are adopted to carry out this study. The analysis reveals a change of the physical solutions as a result of the change of exponents.
