Compact and noncompact solutions for nonlinear dispersive variants of the generalized KdV equation

In this paper we examine three distinct nonlinear dispersive variants of the generalized KdV equation. We study the compact and the noncompact structures for these variants. We also emphasize the fact that purely nonlinear dispersion can cause a deep qualitative change in the genuinely nonlinear phenomenon.
