• A general impulsive disturbed quaternion-valued delayed neural network model is constructed by the impulsive differential system and quaternion-valued delayed neural networks. A novel stability definition is introduced to investigate the stability criteria of impulsive quaternion-valued delayed neural networks.
• Generalized ∞-norm ({ξ, ∞}-norm) and generalized 1-norm ({ξ, 1}-norm) are successively utilized to obtain stability problems of impulsive quaternion-valued delayed neural networks.
• According to ξ-norm and quaternion-valued delayed neural networks, special Lyapunov-type functions are constructed to prove the stability criteria of impulsive quaternion-valued delayed neural networks.
