Ground state for the X-ray free electron laser Schrödinger equation with harmonic potential

Highlights:

• We establish the existence of ground states and normalized solutions of a stationary nonlinear Schrodinger equation modelling beam matter interaction in X-ray free electron lasers.

• We find that the energy of ground state will tend to −∞, as the strength of an electron beam interaction with atomic nucleus tends to zero.

• Our theoretical results are validated by some numerical tests, which also shows the efficiency of our algorithm.
