Probabilistic inference and path analysis

摘要

Discussions of network-based probabilistic techniques in artificial intelligence often mention path analysis as an ideological precursor, but the fundamental connections between the two paradigms have not been explored. This paper details an analogy between the two, and shows that a number of computational results in the AI/expert system literature are directly obtainable from path analysis.
