Metagraphs in workflow support systems

摘要

Workflow support systems contain a network of tasks that process documents, some of which share common information elements. Metagraphs, an extension of directed graphs and hypergraphs, have been used to model the interactions among other types of DSS information: stored data, decision models, and expert knowledge. We show that metagraphs can also be used to model the interactions among workflow tasks and thus provide a comprehensive tool for modeling the various types of information managed by a DSS.
