Apparent area of a rigid moving body

摘要

The rate of change of apparent area of a rigid moving body is expressed in the form of an integral. From this integral, an approximate expression is obtained for the time to contact with the body. The same approximate expression is also obtained using the first-order spatial derivatives of the flow field.
