Spatial/spatial-frequency representations for image segmentation and grouping

In this paper, we consider the application of spatial/ spatial-frequency representations to texture-based image segmentation and to perceptual grouping, a related phenomenon. We discuss a system for segmentation and grouping, based on the pseudo-Wigner distribution (PWD) a discrete approximation to the WD, and show experimental results.
