Model-based segmentation of grey-tone images

摘要

A model-based approach to grey-tone image segmentation is presented. A conceptual and computational frame is described, in which a variety of image models can be accommodated. Each model is defined by a feature pair and implies a uniformity criterion for ideal regions. Some particularly relevant models are described in detail and illustrated by means of experimental results obtained with real-world images.
