摘要
Many smaller firms now utilize computer-based information systems (IS). Top managers in these small firms have a crucial role to play in the development of IS, but the nature of this role differs sharply from that usually undertaken by the senior manager of the larger firm. An exploratory study has identified a range of different involvement patterns among the top managers in small firms. These patterns have been categorized into five groups which are ordered into a typology of top manager involvement. Recognition of the differences among these patterns has implications for the improved implementation of IS in the small business.
