摘要

This article argues how the efficiency and effectiveness of the current processes of conservation planning is increased through the implementation and use of Internet multimedia database information systems. This leads to new conservation planning processes that are not just automated but also do not succumb to the Quality of Service (QoS) problems that current processes across Europe exhibit. Automating the processes for dealing with applications for listing and listed building consent, is in line with new national guidelines set in many European Union countries, including the United Kingdom, about modernising central and local government through the implementation and use of Internet multimedia database information systems.
