A data base management system for document retrieval applications

摘要

This paper outlines the capabilities of the Mistral/11 document retrieval system. Mistral is based on the relational data model and is designed for general document retrieval applications. An informal description of the basic retrieval and data management facilities is given. An overview of the internal storage methods is also given and the implications of these in building a data base are described.
