An improvement on the automatic tool for relational database design

摘要

This paper corrects some misconceptions regarding an automatic tool for relational database design. A modified algorithm (SYNTHESIZER+) from the synthesis algorithm SYNTHESIZER is presented. For a given set of FDs, it can produce a third normal form (3NF) relational database schema with a minimum number of relations.
