摘要

This paper reports on the need for an Instrument to measure computer user abilities and then discusses an attempt to develop and evaluate one such instrument. The instrument was successfully tested for reliability using the Cronbach alpha test applied to inter-item scores. (Alpha = .803). Content validity was assessed and discriminant validity was investigated using a principle components factor analysis. The principle components test Identified three clear factors: technical abilities, modeling abilities, and applications abilities. This instrument or one like it could be the basis for future research in the area of educating end users.
