摘要

In the present manuscript, higher-order methods are derived to solve a MSEIR model. They are obtained using extrapolation techniques combined with nonstandard finite difference (NSFD) schemes used in Anguelov et al. (2014). Thus, the new algorithms are more efficient computationally, and are dynamically consistent with the continuous model: they replicate the global asymptotic stability (GAS) of the disease free equilibrium (DFE), also the global stability of the endemic equilibrium (EE), and its conservation law. Numerical experiments are provided to illustrate the theory.
