Suitability of Runge-Kutta methods

摘要

In this paper we introduce the concept of suitability, which means that the nonlinear equations to be solved in a Runge-Kutta method have a unique solution. We give several results about suitability, and prove that the Butcher I, II and III, and the Lobatto IIIA and IIIB methods are suitable.
