Low discrepancy sequences for solving the Boltzmann equation

Some new quasi-Monte Carlo methods for the solution of the Boltzmann equation in a simplified case are described. The errors of the methods are estimated by means of the discrepancies of the sequences used for performing the Monte Carlo quadratures. Their accuracy is assessed through computation of effective errors in an example where an exact solution is known.
