Global classical solutions to initial-boundary value problems for the potential vorticity equation

摘要

This paper is concerned with initial-boundary value problems for the potential vorticity equation, which is a fundamental model in atmospheric dynamics. The existence and uniqueness of global classical solutions has been proved by establishing a priori estimates for solutions of a degenerate elliptic equation.
