A numerical approach to the solution of Abel integral equations of the second kind with nonsmooth solution

In this paper, we study the feasibility of numerical solutions, analogous to those methods introduced by Bownds (1979, 1982) and Bownds and Wood (1976, 1979) for Volterra integral equations of the second kind with weakly singular kernels.
