An asymptotic-numerical method for a model system with turning points

We discuss a numerical method for solving a perturbed nonlinear system with turning points that consists in replacing the continuous problem with a sequence of constant coefficient problems on abutting intervals. Asymptotic analysis is then used to show that, for a fixed stepsize, the solutions of the approximate problems accurately represent the true solution as the perturbation parameter tends to zero.
