Solution of a weakly two-dimensional melting problem by an approximate method

摘要

A two-dimensional melting problem where the solid/liquid interface moves along the y-axis is solved by an approximate method. The numerical results from the present method are compared with the approximate methods due to earlier authors. The superiority of the present method is shown through a test problem whose analytical solution is known.
