Screen layout design: Research into the overall appearance of the screen

摘要

Research into the visual effects of screen designs has been slow in developing. The paper examines the current state of that research and suggests some avenues for future efforts. The basic theme is that changes in screen designs are small, though significant factors in the design of lessons. As small factors, it is unrealistic to expect major learning gains, instead researchers should look for small changes in learner behaviors or processes.
