摘要

A review of recent work in small-group computer-based training (CBT) reveals that using small groups in CBT does not seem to harm achievement but does not necessarily lead to higher achievement, as would be expected from related literature. However, many small-group CBT studies have one or more methodological weaknesses. Several small-group subfactors affect small-group CBT achievement. With regard to individual group member aptitude, the literature is inconclusive on group composition. Optimum group size seems to be either two or three, and group members should usually be of the same gender. The most promising research area seems to be the behavior of the members of the small group while they are involved in CBT. If proper behavioral guidance and structure can be provided to group members, using small groups in CBT should lead to higher achievement than individual CBT.
