摘要

Psychology graduate students and practicing psychologists were asked to rate the accuracy of interpretive reports for the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory that were labeled as generated by either a computer or licensed clinician. There was not any difference between the accuracy ratings for computer-generated reports and the ratings for clinician-generated reports, although both groups tended to rate reports that contained a purposefully inaccurate statements as less valid than reports without the inaccurate statement. Also, experienced clinicians tended to perceive reports labeled as computer-generated as less useful and less comprehensive than the same reports labeled as clinician-generated. The results do not support the claim that computer reports may be seen as more credible than is warranted.
