摘要
We developed a new generation TV Standards Converter which compensates for movement by means of a motion vector, and have introduced the TV Standards Converter capable of bidirectional conversion between 625/50 and 525/60 standards. Specially, the detection of the motion vector uses the iterative gradient method (IGM), so that more precise movement can be detected as compared with other motion detecting methods, and the moving image of the converted picture does not have judder, smear or other defects. This paper describes the construction of the real-time motion vector detection using IGM, and the motion compensation method of the converter.
