A consultation system for recognition of human body segments from tomograms

摘要

Medics is a knowledge-based consultation program for recognition of human body segments from tomograms. It has been built using the KEE knowledge engineering environment system by Intellicorps. Medics is basically a system with learning capabilities, based on three closely interacting phases: indication of body segments in a medical image by an expert, learning, and recognition. The system provides assistance in NMR tomogram analysis. It builds up its own knowledge on the basis of the same parameters used when performing low level processing of tomograms, a feature that is regarded as particularly useful in situations where the assessed knowledge is lacking, e.g., NMR tomograms of body segments.
