摘要
Knowledge bases allow the capturing of a great deal of useful knowledge created during the software process, but lost with traditional documentation methods. A representation scheme for software process knowledge which centres around the notion of the design decision is proposed, and a prototype KBMS implementation developed for this scheme in the ESPRIT project DAIDA is described. It is shown that the decision-oriented approach allows the KBMS to serve both as a tool controller within some methodologies, and as a documentation structure which makes the process knowledge available for selective maintenance and reuse. The authors also demonstrate how such a system can lead to an integrated development and usage environment for knowledge-base applications.
