Expert systems in manufacturing: An experience in Mexico

摘要

This article describes the experience of our research team in developing expert systems in the area of manufacturing for an industrial corporation in Mexico. It presents the lessons we have learned in introducing expert systems into the firm, selecting problem domains, acquiring and modeling knowledge, programming and testing prototypes, deploying systems in production, and estimating the benefits of their usage.
