An expert system approach to AIDS intervention and prevention

摘要

The increased involvement of information systems in Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) intervention and prevention (AIP) leads to increased demand for expert systems. This paper presents an expert system that extracts data from the database and then screens AIDS-risky behaviors and schedules follow-up assessments by using mathematical models, as intelligent as an AIP expert would. The application results have been compared with AIP expert's judgement that presents evidence of the usefulness of the system.
