Predicting the age of researchers using bibliometric data
作者:
Highlights:
• The most important bibliometric factors that can be used to estimate the academic age of researchers are analyzed from a prediction point of view.
• The year of first publication of a researcher proves to be the best linear predictor of her academic and biological age, overall and by scientific fields.
• Additional age-related variables (e.g., the position of authors in the by-line of the papers or total output) do not substantially improve prediction.
