Biomedical image processing using the CLIP system

Since its commission in 1980, CLIP4, a parallel cellular array computer, has been used for many image processing applications. A great proportion of these have been in the biomedical field in collaboration with university departments, hospitals and research institutions. Five such biomedical applications are described, detailing the various parallel algorithms used.
