Detecting and extracting compact textured regions using pyramids

摘要

A method of detecting and extracting compact regions having different textures from their backgrounds is presented. It is based on previous work on intensity based compact region extraction and requires O(log n)computational steps for an n by n image if implemented on a cellular pyramid.
