摘要

An iterated function system (IFS) is a method of encoding an image using the theory of fractals. A large compression ratio is usually obtained. An improved algorithm for decoding an IFS list is given. The algorithm produces a better resolution image at the same or even increased speed. The geometrical properties of the algorithm are discussed.
